Being first design 48 IDA carbs, these really deserve to be mounted on a GT-40, Cobra, etc so I removed them from the intake and will sell the intake separately. These carbs are in amazing condition as shown. After being removed from the 32 Ford, these carbs were sent to carb guru Jim Inglese and were fully gone through.
They are setup to be used on a Small Block Chevy engine and will likely need some changes for a different engine. That said, the fact that these were gone through by Jim Inglese tells you they are sound units. These carbs are stamped as follows. These are real deal first design 48 IDA carbs with early serial numbers.The only dealers in the US that I know of in this early time frame were Moon and Shelby. Most of these early carbs were used on top race engines and were run hard and tossed early on. This set has survived the test of time. For hot rod applications, there are later built carbs and replacements that can be had for a lot less than these early carbs. For a GT-40, Cobra, vintage racer, etc. These real deal carbs are a must have. These early carbs rarely come up for sale.
